The builder is the whole point
Six steps: appearance, personality, voice, backstory, how the character talks to you, and what it should never bring up. That last step is rare, and it is why my Camsoda character drifted less than the ones I built in other apps.
| Step | What you decide |
|---|---|
| 1 | Appearance |
| 2 | Personality |
| 3 | Voice |
| 4 | Backstory |
| 5 | How it talks to you |
| 6 | Topics that are off-limits |
Memory lives with each character
Make three companions and each one keeps its own history with you. That should be standard, but most apps in this space still pour everything into one shared memory for the whole account.
What is missing
There are no native apps; it is browser only. The price is not on the marketing site either. You find it after you sign up, so I am not going to guess at a number here. When half the decision is the monthly bill, that is a real strike against it.
Give it an hour
The ready-made characters feel like a catalog. The app only clicked once I used the six-step builder and filled in the "never bring this up" field.
